Our Board is Here to Serve and Continue the Unity Hawaii Community Legacy

The Endowment Foundation has an elected five-member Board of Directors. Its duties are defined in the Foundation’s Bylaws. The Foundation's Board is duty bound to perform its functions in accordance with its Bylaws and the  UPMIFA uniform law  governing foundations.

Sally was a frequent visitor to Unity Church of Hawai’i every year while visiting her mother, Ruth Isaak Lyle, who joined in 1976. She became a member in 2010 after moving here from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She has served as chair of two Bylaws Committees and has served on the Board of the Endowment Foundation since 2018, as secretary and chair. Sally’s professional experience as an attorney was in law firms and at the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.

Howard has been a member of Unity Church since 1991.  He has been active in many committees and has served on the Board of Trustees as President.  He has been with the Hawaii State Energy office for over  40 years, leading the charge in in reducing Hawaii’s energy expenditures by well over $1 billion.  He is a licensed small businessman,   managing properties for over 40 years.

Thomas has been a member of Unity Church of Hawai’i (UCoH) since 1991. He was a clinical professor of pediatrics/author, bringing over $20M in research funds to Hawaii. He is currently President of the UCoH Board of Trustees, President of the Hawaii Loa Ridge Owners Association (HLROA), and Secretary of the Unity of Hawaii Endowment Foundation (UoHEF). His leadership during difficult times has helped stabilize the church, move us into the Integral Ministry Program, create a Beloved Community, and create a harmonious relationship with Unity School. His philanthropic activities support several non-profit entities.

Lucas is a financial analyst who is the founder and lead consultant for Northwest Insights. Previously, he worked as an Economist in government contracting after finishing a PhD from the University of Washington. He first joined Unity Seattle with his grandmother, and started volunteering with Unity Hawaii when he moved to Honolulu, where he completed several years of financial reviews for the church. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outside, being active, and enjoying the company of friends.

David served as a Clinical Professor of Optometry at UC Berkeley for 40 years and practiced privately for 10 years in the San Francisco area. A Unity member for 14 years, he transferred from Unity of Marin to Unity Church of Hawai’i upon retiring. He is committed to serving the church as a member of the Board of Trustees and the Foundation Board and also volunteers on the camera crew and the Nomination Committee. His intention is to live a life that resonates in love with our beloved community.
